Ultimate Truth
I understand. We’re all facing the same things: life and its challenges – job, family, money, house, car, health issues, relationships, understanding ourselves and others, happiness, sadness, and disappointments, the list can go on and on. To say the least, life is something else. Would that we could stay a child and not have to deal with life’s challenges, but we can’t. We grow up: teenagers, young adults, middle aged, and senior citizens and with each of life’s plateaus a new set of challenges emerges and, sometimes, we make good decisions and the road is a little easier and then, sometimes, we make poor decisions and the burden becomes unbearable.
I understand. I’ve been there and so have millions of others. Life’s just like that and it doesn’t matter who you are, or what your skin color is, or whether you’re male or female, or rich or poor, life can be pretty rough. That’s the way it was for me.
Although I had grown up in a fairly stable middle class family in America, after I left home I made some very poor decisions and by the time I was 22 I was doing drugs, living on the streets or sleeping in vacant houses with just the clothes on my back and no hope for my future, and then I met Him.
I was at a lady’s house one night where I heard a story about an all loving creator God who had the ability to personally communicate with and care for every human being and about His Son whom He sacrificed to save humanity. I met Him that night and my life was never the same.
That was many years ago. He saved me. I didn’t die on the streets from a drug overdose. I went to school. I had a career. I got married. I had kids. I had grand kids. I handled the trials of life with Him by my side every step of the way. I’m pretty old now and I’ve had a good and happy life because of Him and He hasn’t done it just for me. He’s done it for millions of others just like me; some worse, some better, and He can do it for you.
His name is Jesus.
Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me. (Revelation 3:20)
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.(John 3:16)
Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.(Romans 10:9-10)
It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.”(Deuteronomy 31;8)
